2 years ago on New Year's Eve, I was at a party in Bushwick. I never leave my coat/belongings unattended, however this night I was convinced it would be ok because we'd stand right by and keep an eye on it. Half way through the party, a bunch of young kids left. (The party was an 18+ Ninjasonik show. I knew better.) When I was ready to leave, my coat was gone. It was my favorite coat. It was a tan and brown tweed bomber with a quilted faux silk lining. It had a removable hood with removable faux fur trim. I'm now shopping for a new coat, and it makes me miss my old one very badly. :( Stuff is just stuff, but I liked that coat and probably wouldn't be shopping for a new one had I not lost that one. I guess the real attachment aside from the aesthetics, was that it was the first "nice" thing I bought for myself when I started working after college. I never took it off. :( again.
