Sunset Park.

My downstairs neighbor is blasting TLC "No Scrubs".

I think I ate too much.

American Beauty is on tv.
I think it's depressing me.

Oh Tom Jones.

We used to go to Tom Jones A LOT.
We would go really late at night - sometimes after West Philly parties or after Shampoo. (hahaha!)
When Beth and I used to hang out with Ralph, we told him and his friends about it and after we took him there, he would drive out to Brookhaven all the time just to go.
We used to steal one thing from the table every time we went.
There were always trashy, weird, interesting, funny people in there.
All hours of the night.

Everyone would get the Blue Ribbon special, which was this insane amount of food for $2.79. Unfortunately, the price has gone up in the past few years, but the amout of food that comes with it is still crazy.

The website used to be hilarious.
They had links to profiles of all the waitresses that worked there.

And they always had stupid/funny things on the sign outside.
They have a sandwich called the RC.
It's a grilled cheese with turkey and tomato.
We were driving away one night, and the sign said, "Have you tried the RC yet?"
Of course I thought this was the best thing ever since my initials are in fact "RC".

Living in the Moment.

I just found out that a girl who I was good friends with in elementary school, middle school, and part of high school is moving to Norway.
It doesn't sound like a big deal, but let me tell you why it is.

After college she was a school teacher for a year or so.
She decided that she didn't want that for herself because it made her feel old and she just wasn't at that point in her life where she wanted to be tied down to a job like that.
So she moved to New York and got a job as a cocktail waitress in the meat-packing district.
She's been here a year or 2 and couldn't be happier.

Now she's moving to Norway. To be with her boyfriend.
I wish I had the balls to pack up and go at the drop of a dime.
I still have some remnants of my shyness left in me that I desperately need to get rid of.Going back to an earlier post, I've always felt that I've had to do the right thing, and the "right" thing is basically the responsible thing.
I hate being responsible all the time.

I had another friend that I'd known the same amount of time who never had a problem with doing whatever, whenever.
I would always think it through first, and usually decide that it was a bad idea - no matter what it was.

I'm starting to let go, but not at the pace I'd like to.
Help me?

Thank you Christy!

Christy and I went out after work for a drink or so.
We sat outside in the "garden" at this bar in the east village and talked about work and life and whatever else.
I told her about some boy drama I have/had and she figured out what my problem was.
It's totally me. I'm not a bad person or a bad girlfriend or "friend" - I just subconsciously sabotage myself.
But that's enough being serious.

Ana and I are going to work out tonight.
I'm excited. I haven't worked out - like really worked out since I moved to NY almost 3 years ago.

OK.

So you can tell when I don't have much to do at work because I start actually thinking about my life and I start blogging about all the crap I want to do and only scratch at the surface of.

I'm feeling like there are a lot of "phases" I never went through when I was growing up. I always had to be responsible. Since the age of 10 I was left in charge of my sister (who was about 6 at the time). I had to get her up and ready for school, make dinner, do the laundry, do a ton of chores, etc, etc. That was my entire life until I was in college.
When I was 13, I spent my entire summer taking care of my youngest sister who was an infant at the time.

I never had time to rebel or do things I wasn't supposed to do.
I started to a little bit when I was in college, but I didn't do anything worthy of cool points.

I always had a lot of friends, and I always had fun but for some reason now I'm feeling like I missed my chance to do all the stupid things that kids do.

Not that it matters. I'm just wondering how I would have turned out had I been a bad kid. Or just not so uptight and worried about the rules and getting in trouble.

Haha In 7th - 9th grade I was best friends with Chris Cain.
He started hanging out with these kids in the "2nd Ave" crew.
I would hang out with them too, but one time they came to my house and stole a bunch of my cds and broke some stuff in my basement.
My mom would always give them cookies and juice in the morning if she saw them on their way to school. They loved her.
Those kids were really bad.
I think I had crushes on all of them.
haha

Anyway, the point of the story is that I want to do whatever I want. It's eating me up inside.

The Chocolate Life. Sort of.

I want this tea. I always want chocolate when I'm at work.
I think this would help.
It's Chocolate Chip Truffle.
I'm craving it already.

GIANT sigh.

Time heals everything.

In other news, over the weekend we went to Dino's football game at Villanova.
He plays for UNH.
It was his 21st birthday.
Dino's like a brother to me.
I wish he and my sister would get married someday.
haha Anyway, I think this is my favorite picture of him:

Aw. Deeeeeeeeeen.
