A few weeks ago I was in Philly for Beth's wedding dress fitting. I got a phone call from a number I didn't know. The person on the other end asked if I knew who they were - and I didn't. They told me we met 7 years ago. I rudely repeated, "7 years ago?" And they said, "Yeah, down the shore." I then realized that it was Rich. I met him when I was down the shore for senior week when I graduated from high school. He was from south Philly and I hung out with him and his friends basically the whole week. They were cool kids.
We had hung out for a while after that - and into my 1st year of college and then we just lost touch for whatever reason.
Anyway, he had found a letter I sent him with some pictures in it and I guess I had left the number to my mom's house in it. He had called my mom and my mom gave him my cell phone number. Freaking crazy.
We talk a lot just about whatever.
He said one of the nicest things last weekend - he said that all these years he's compared every girl he's met to me. He said that I'm a nice girl and that's hard to find.
Wow. Everyone's full of compliments lately.
So we hung out last weekend. Not as a date or anything, just to hang out. It was cool. We met up with some of his friends in NE Philly and had some drinks and we split a chicken cheese steak with this really good hot sauce.
After Rich and I hung out I went up to my sister's house and we hung out with her roommate and her friend. We got some food and acted stupid. It was nice to just hang out with my sister.
We went to meet with my mom and hung out with her for a little bit. I ended up sleeping at my mom's and ate like it was my job.
This lady was leaning on that cucumber like a cane before I took the picture.
I came home early the next day (Labor Day) and everything was weird. I got the same turkey and cheese sandwich I always get from the bodega and thinking about it right now is making me hungry even though I already ate tonight.
TO BE UPDATED LATER.
