Graffiti for Old Ladies.

I somehow stumbled upon a blog called "Yarnbombing" last week.
At first I thought it was kinda stupid - knitting things and then sticking them places around your city or neighborhood.  (Referred to as "tagging" on each site I've seen about "knit graffiti".  I think a much better term would be installation, but whatever.)
I still think it's kinda stupid, but I saw this today:

Both were done by an artist whose name is, I believe, Pixieknit.  That's the name of her blog, anyway.
These two pieces are great - and although I think I read that they were commissioned, they're still amazing.

sometimes it's the stupid stuff that makes life less boring :)

I like the bus stop cover.

Yeah but this is a different kind of stupid. I don't like that the artists involved in this consider themselves graffiti artists. But anyway, I like the bus stop cover too, hence my post about it. :)

oh it's just a play on words, not serious and not to be seriously compared to spray paint graffiti. I haven't met many fellow yarnbombers who would actually consider themselves graffiti artists per se. Anybody can knit and do a bit yarnbombing but not anybody can paint and do graffiti.
Enjoyed visiting your blog :)
cheers

In that case, it's kinda funny. Thanks for clarifying. :)
